Physical Developments:
Physically this course
teaches many different things. We will be increasing
flexibility, fluidity, agility, balance, timing, cardio,
muscle toning, hand-to-eye coordination, speed,
footwork, and overall athleticism.
**********************************
Mental Developments:
One of the largest
things we focus on increasing is confidence. We will
also be talking about respect, perseverance, indomitable
spirit, courtesy, integrity, discipline, and
self-control. These life lessons are things the martial
arts teaches that carry over to every day life. We do
not teach any eastern mysticism. This course is taught
either from a secular view point where we will discuss
the things just mentioned, or from a Christian stand
point where we will discuss everything above but also
get into some other lectures delving into Christianity
in physical education as well as in the martial arts.
**********************************
Self-Defense:
We will be talking about the four aspect of
self-defense. These are things that a person can do to
try and avoid getting into a fight before it happens. We
will discuss what to look for and how to try and deflate
a potential threat. We will also be teaching some basic
but yet very crucial elements of self-defense. It is our
wish that none of our students ever have to use force to
defend them selves. Learning martial arts is kind of
like buying car insurance, you dont buy car insurance hoping
to get into a car accident. You buy car insurance so
that if you ever do get into a car accident you will be
protected.
**********************************
An art form:
Our students
will also be learning a beautiful art form. Why are hobbies or
art forms so important for kids to learn? Well very simply put
they learn something about themselves and they hopefully get a
lot of other fantastic benefits from the art form or hobbies.
Would you rather your kids learn an art form, or pick up a
video game? Art has many benefits and in this course we will
be discussing why art is so important in life. If nothing else
we want to open their eyes to something new and let them
realize that life has a lot to offer.
